Senior Product Manager, Auth0 Platform Infrastructure
Okta
Role description
Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Auth0 Platform Infrastructure team. In this highly visible role, you will be the driving force behind the core infrastructure and platform capabilities that power Auth0’s immense global scale. You will own the vision, strategy, and execution for critical platform components including intelligent rate limiting, high-volume streaming data architectures, and overall cloud resilience. As a leader in the platform space, you will tackle multi-dimensional scaling challenges—including those introduced by the rapid adoption of AI agents—and ensure our platform remains highly available, secure, and performant for thousands of enterprise customers relying on us for mission-critical authentication. What You’ll Do Define the Platform Vision: Own the roadmap and strategic direction for key infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with Auth0’s broader platform strategy and vision. Enhance Cloud Infrastructure & Resilience: Champion initiatives related to cloud architecture, including Geo HA failover mechanisms, AWS PrivateLink implementations, and service-only failovers to guarantee "four nines" reliability. Scale AI Agent Identity & MCP: Lead the infrastructure strategy for Model Context Protocol (MCP) enablement, defining how autonomous LLMs and AI agents securely authenticate, request context, and invoke APIs using the Auth0 "Auth for MCP" framework. Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Go-To-Market teams to deliver robust infrastructure features. Serve as the bridge between deeply technical engineering challenges and customer-facing value. Master Rate Limiting & Scale: Design and implement intelligent, multi-dimensional rate-limiting strategies that protect platform stability while supporting massive customer bursting capabilities and new paradigms like AI agent identities. Champion Compliance and Security: Ensure infrastructure features align with stringent security frameworks and compliance standards, building in security by design. What You Bring Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, with a significant portion of that time spent managing highly technical, deeply backend, or infrastructure/platform products at an enterprise SaaS company. Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and modern infrastructure concepts. AI & Developer Tooling Savvy: Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) , agentic workflows, and securing machine-to-machine (M2M) or agent-to-tool communications (e.g., token exchange, delegated authorization, OAuth 2.1). Technical Fluency: Proven ability to engage with engineering teams on complex topics such as data streaming (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis), API gateways, intelligent rate-limiting algorithms, and high-availability (HA) database failovers. Analytical Mindset: Strong data-driven approach to product management, with experience defining, tracking, and optimizing operational metrics and SLAs. Customer Focus: Ability to translate complex infrastructure capabilities into compelling customer value propositions and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, lead cross-functional initiatives, and navi...
